Gift card skimming scam uncovered in California gaining popularity among thieves

One Target store in Sacramento County was the victim of a gift card skimming operation that law enforcement say retail theft criminals are utilizing.

I cannot believe that one Chinese national could use all of those cards 5, 739 of them at $200 a piece that's like $1, 147, 800 worth of cards that were stolen write off those cards. I guess this will make me think twice about buying gift cards from now on!

Solution: Don't buy gift cards period!
I hate to receive a gift card for a place that I never go.
Put that $50 inside of an envelop and the recipient will certainly have a better use for that money.
