Etymologically, the word "Kutidhieng" means pet; like a mother holding her child and lulling her while singing lullabies.
However, according to stories from various sources, it is said that this song has the meaning of a song that contains "a spell to summon or tame Rimueng Aulia (Tiger Aulia)" which implies a strong tradition and seems mystical.

However, the lyrics of the Kutidhieng song sung by Putri are actually different from the original lyrics.
The original song lyrics date back to the Pre-Islamic era and are considered black spells used in old beliefs before major religions came to Aceh.
