Just finished watching it.
'steal a cabbage - death' and laughing to death after undiluted wine and figs were just of my favourite parts.

It seems the father of tragedy could naturally be the father of irony as well. He's told he will die being crushed by a house, so he goes outside, then gets crushed by the sky falling on him in turtle form

Also, your friend foxakimbo seems to have made an error. The Diogenes he's referring to is likely Diogenes Laertius, who was a historian, not the same Diogenes as the philosopher. Diogenes Laertius lived some 4 to 500 years after Plato and such, while Diogenes the philosopher was contemporaneous with Plato.
