YAESU FT5D and FTM300 Using Wires X button with Openspot 3

This route seems offer more flexibility for an FT5 owner than say HRI acess mode into Yaesu's locked down Wires X only. I need to read more:)

Hello. I realize this is an "old" video but it's the closest relatable video to my dilemma. I have an FT-300D and an Openspot4 Pro. Sidenote - I also have the FT3D. Here's the situation. I have the 300D and 4 Pro connected and communicating. Using the iPhone app and/or the SharkRF link, I can change from one profile to the other (I have 10 configured profiles). With the FT3D, I can quick press the X button and I get into Wires-X mode for changing profiles, etc. Now with the FTM-300D, pressing and holding the D X button does not get me to the Wires-X mode. I figured you can point me in the right direction. Not sure if its a radio setting or Openspot setting that I am missing. Hope you can help. 73 de KX7TL

Hello again, Andreas:-) Sorry for another question but here goes anyway. I followed you on this and I do have FT5 and OpenSpot3. I see "YSF-US-AMERICA- 1" at the bottom of the screen and when I do a "SEARCH & DIRECT" and I see "OS3-P1 Default(s)" then I see about 15 "rooms" from "!-USA-TAC 0" all the way down to "00-VW-2-P25 0" but I don't know where these came from and do not see "YSF-US-AMERICA- 1" and cannot see how to add it to the list. How does one add, delete or amend the list on the radio and where dow one find all these links, please and thanks a million! 73's M7CQQ, Chris.

I'm new to this game, but what is the value/purpose of using WiresX through the OpenSpot3? Seems rather redundant... Thx for your videos...
