Did everyone notice that Garland also said police and (AND) the city of Minneapolis are in violation of the constitution, who is the city, is it Mayor Jacob Frey and the city council. As stated in the article this didn't start with George Floyd it existed long before his murder. What is the Mayor and Council going to do to correct their behavior because we all know they knew what was happing for many years. It starts at the top with the governor Walls and mayor Frey and the city council... they must be held responsible for their willful neglect of the people of Minneapolis not just the police.

There should also be hiring reform. There are some individuals in law enforcement that hold extremists views (such as the officer who had communication with Enrique Tario following the Jan. 6 attack); these individuals have no right being in law enforcement.

Now how can we get these Federal investigations going in every state? The police department is only making changes bc they are being held accountable for their actions. Unfortunately, there are more groups of people in other states that need police reform as well. I hope hiring practices and reviews are being changed too.

Thank you Mr Garland, for your support of people with Behavioral Disabilities. The caregivers of folks who were exposed to drugs and alcohol while in the womb can tell you that they are lovely people when not under stress. If an Officer is trained in how to approach them in a non-confrontational way, the Officer can learn to de-escalate the situation. These encounters are likely a big part of their job, whether they know it or not. Our loved ones did not ask for the behavioral challenges they live with daily. They deserve respect. Please support the FASD Respect Act.

The PD must update their training and norms. Some exhibit high school football team mentality and the 'atta boy' locker room stuff. No. Professionalism and objective thinking for everyone who wears a badge. Don't protect the bad apples in the barrel; move them out. Too many good cops out there losing cred and motivation because of the few.
