It gives me a great pleasure to address you and thank the almighty Allah ( SWT ) for making it possible for us to witness the successful completion of the three weeks orientation course for the 2023 Batch 'B' Stream || corps members in Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital.

Today, my joy and happiness knows no bounds as I feel fulfilled for many reasons. First the successful hosting of orientation course in the heart of Maiduguri has given credence to our initial promise to the federal government of Nigeria, the NYSC Derictorate Headquarters, Abuja, and the parents of our dear corps members, that Borno State is very secured, peaceful and stable, thanks to this administration's efforts with the support of the gallantry of the Nigerian Army,Nigerian Navy, Airforce,Nigeria Police,Nigeria Customs Service,Nigeria Immigration Service,NDLEA, Nigeria Civil Defence Corps who formed the security operatives in the state for the last many years to ensure that peace and security comes back to Borno.

In the same vein, in gladdens my heart to note that we have not also disappointed the good people of Borno State who equally deserve to enjoy the service of youth corps members, just as our son's and daughters are also serving the nation across all the state of the federation and the Federal capital Territory.

At this stage, I wish to congratulate you for a successful orientation exercise and salute your courage and determination, which placed you among the most courageous Nigerians.

Distinguish ladies and gentlemen,I am also aware that many of you have decided to cancel your applications for relocation to other states in order to stay with us in Borno State for your primary assignment. Let me reiterate our commitment to providing adequate security for all residents of Borno State, including the youth corps members are earlier promised. This is in addition to the already existing welfare provision put in place by my administration.

To all corps members, as you set out to commence the second phase of your national service, be reminded of our collective agreement to put Nigeria first before anything else. This is only country we have and therefore, all hands must be on deck to build and protect her unity, integrity and appreciate the diversity we have across the country which is our strength.

During your swearing-in ceremony, you took an oath to be proud of your fatherland and to appreciate and cherish the cultures, traditions and languages of Nigeria and to protect the common integrity of our dear nation. With the constant reminders from the NYSC, I strongly believe you were properly oriented with adequate knowledge to carry you through your primary assignment and post national service life.

I hope your tour around Maiduguri metropolis has enabled you to see and make spot assessment of common life in the state capital. The visit to his royal highness the Shehu of Borno's palace and blessings is a testimony of the traditional richness of Borno.

Our promise towards speedy renovation of the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Maiduguri has recorded reasonable progress and this is to ensure that in the very near future orientation courses will be on conducted there.
