Sky News host James Morrow has said Australia “needs to wake up” to what’s happening in the US.

“Trump is about to say … basically that a nation that cannot make its own industrial products cannot survive,” Mr Morrow said.

“It goes with a piece with his calls to get everyone to get their defense spending up to three per cent which Labor disgracefully failed to do in the budget they handed down a couple of weeks ago.”

Hi, Folks.
Successive Australian governments of BOTH flavours have sold Australian industries, PARTICULARLY our manufacturing industry, down the drain for decades, to the point where we have just about ZERO heavy manufacturing capability now.

We build ZERO tractors here, ZERO defense capable aircraft, ZERO cars or trucks, ZERO army tanks and VERY limited munitions. If Lang Hancock had been allowed to do what he planned, we would have had steel mills on BOTH sides of the country with coal being transported by rail one way and iron ore the other and a worthwhile industrial asset in the event that, God forbid, we are ever attacked. What do we have now???? CRICKETS!!!!

What Australia and Australians need now is a collection of governments, both state and federal, who can AND WILL think beyond the next election to what best fits the needs of the country and its people in the LONG term. I DON"T see that in either major party at the moment but LEAST OF ALL in Albo's mob of wannabe COMMUNISTS.

Just my 0.02.

You all have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

The problem in Australia is the majority of Australians get their news, which forms their anti-Trump opinions, from the biased mainstream media.

If tariffs are so bad, why does the rest of the world use them against us?

Albo carrying on like a pork chop over the 10% tarrif. Its a pity he didn't carrying on as much about the 30% rise in the cost of living. Obviously its not important enough for him.

The whole trouble is.
Albo blames Trump for everything.
Sheeples just follow along.
Trump is looking after America.
Australia needs too do the same.
Trump is our only chance

Ah, yeah, Australia wakes up to more laws, taxes, fines, and tolls. Yeah, Australia is awake. We can't manufacture anything, but we sure can manufacture laws, legislation, and red tape, which is our main industry.

Kind of difficult when our Prime Minister, Ambassador to US, and even a former PM, keep slagging the American President. He won't even take their calls. Like Trump or not, he is in charge over there, and he's the one you have to deal with. It's called diplomacy.

Australia's "Boom "
Period " was after WW 11, during the late 40's, 50's 60' and early 70's.
During this time,
Australia had a policy of
Protectionism when we "protected" all our Agricultural Industries, Wheat, Wool, Dairy and
Fruit( dried and tinned).
Also our Manufacturing: White Goods, Car Making, engineering businesses.
Whitlam destroyed all that when he "slashed " all our Tarrifs and sent all those Industries into slow decline.
The WEF, helped it all along, by decreeing that the "Industrial World transfer all their Manufacturing to Communist China to rescue it from uts Third World Poverty Status, following its Cultural Revolution of 1949.
Australia should have an adequate
Tarrif policy to "protect our "Primary and essential Secondary Industries just as many other countries already do.

I’m American and this is my favorite news channel. We are in an everything bubble. It has to burst or we can’t go forward. We cannot afford houses. The stock market valuation is a joke. Trump is smarter than most people and he will sort it out.
