I've been working in the industry for 8 years, and I've only made 1 explainer video, I just keep getting work making banner ads (the promise of video and explainers, and then they don't come it's just stupid banners). My portfolio is full of personal projects though, full of illustrated and animated videos. How do you even get jobs making explainers instead of banner ads? 😢
