I was 'meh' when I heard Wiilian Shatner was going into space. Wasn't expecting much. But he was the person we NEEDED to do this.

It looks like the meaning is not lost on this man. He gets it and he felt it. Truly amazing for him to have that take away cuz none of the others seem to have gotten it in this profound way.

"Orbiting Earth in the spaceship, I saw how beautiful our planet is. People, let us preserve and increase this beauty, not destroy it!” -Yuri Gagarin.” - Yuri Gagarin, 1961, the first man to orbit the Earth.

The saddest part is that it takes going into space to realize how precious and unique this life harboring planet is.

I think William Shatner really needed to have that experience. He's more humble in this interview than I've ever seen him. Good on you Captain.

“The gift wasn’t the trip. The gift is what you brought back.” You’re absolutely right, Chris. 🥂

It’s like he had a glimpse into eternity and was absolutely astounded by what it was he did witness. I love those moments. And it taken humility for him to share his experience.

Chris nailed it! William Shatner's gift was not his trip beyond the atmosphere of Earth, it was the gift of his experience, that he brought back to Earth.

Bravo Mr. Shatner. We need more honesty and genuine emotion.

I love how the rest of the crew was playing in the zero g, and Shatner was just transfixed by the view he saw in the window.

He got it.

"I don't understand the inability to see what's coming our way, " perfectly said.

We had quite the historical moment this week. Mr. Shatner’s reaction made this infinitely more memorable than what anyone expected.

William Shatner coming back from space saying "there's death in space" and reminding us that earth is our home and earth only. I feel a lot of gratitude towards him. Greetings from Germany.

I always thought an artist would have a strong reaction to the reality of space. I never thought it would be William Shatner, I never thought it would be this well received. I always thought it would be that remarkable. Bravo Bill ! The perfect choice for such a flight.

Shatner is stating something that more people should be aware of: people need to stop with their petty conflicts. detach themselves and understand life is bigger than their issues.

I'm glad to have witnessed his moment and saddened as he apparently is by the fact that we have literally not learned that you can't shit where you eat.

I wish Spock, Nimoy was able to experience that journey with Cpt. Kirk, Shatner. That would have been way cool

When people go into space and sense what the earth means, they are humbled.
