How Men Can Style a Denim Jacket: The Right Pants, Shirt, and Shoes to Maximize the Look

I'm wearing Thursday's denim trucker jacket, Oni's secret denim jacket (the greener one), and Tanuki's type 2 jacket (their amagumo fabric). The last two are hard to find, and Oni's doesn't have hand pockets so I just sold it yesterday!

Denim jackets are as formal as denim jeans, which is to say they're not formal at all BUT they can help to elevate a casual outfit and make you look more put together if you style it right. A couple of years ago I had no clue how to wear one but now I like them a lot — when I'm not wearing blue jeans!

I personally think that they have to be exact match or completely different denim… if you wear blue on blue and they’re different shades that’s when it doesn’t match. But that’s why everybody has their own style if we all listened to the same rules then we would all look like clones.

Contrasting primary colors will allow versatility & any combo of t-shirt, denim pants, and denim jacket. Just make sure one of the denim items is broken in well, not only for comfort and mobility but also to reduce self-consciousness. My favorite pants right now are the Savage Green by Brave Star in the Strongman fit. I can wear any of my various blue or black Type III's and also pair with my blue zip-up hoodie regardless of color combo.

i have 3sixteen double black type 3s with either samurai, momotaro, iron heart, oh nudie jeans, honestly sometimes i got insecure.
i have a plan to purchase rgt sashiko indigo or stealth but i dont know man, its still considered denim right?

It’s really easy, move out west out of NYC, buy a horse and learn to ride, boom now you can wear whatever denim jacket you want.

Personally i much prefer the colous to be exact same or very very similar. I m a fan of the canadian taxido and i actually think its kinda smart. Like if you dont wear suits, it can be your unique suit. Up to a point off course. Otherwise, pair a denim jacket with a chino.
