I honestly can’t imagine Elena being blonde. Her being brunette is just perfect and makes a lot of sense. Her personality goes well with brown hair and I think the trio of Caroline who is blonde, Elena being brunette and Bonnie being black is just perfect. There is individuality. Perfect casting 👍🏻 Paul Wesley is also perfect as Stefan and so is Ian as Damon.

Ian fits Damon SO well! In the beginning you think hot, attitude, makes you want something. Ian features were amazing, they fit that person so well. His acting is even better though, his voice fits EVERY line.

if anyone doesn’t know tvd was adapted from the books of the same name by lj, in which elena was a blond with blue eyes and a very pale complexion, the reason people where upset about nina being picked was because she was a brunette and very far off from the book description of elena. but ofc no one could have played elena like nina, the whole cast was very well selected and fit their parts perfectly
