ChessBase India strikes again! I mean no one believed that result until this footage was released
And it was captured so elegantly as well: The heavy breathing.. the silence.. the frustration and the relief. Just epic!

Rasmus took it surprisingly well. I would have flipped the table.

He died two times inside for every extra pawns he had.

Actually no one in the fide chat believed that anish won this one, everyone thought that there was a glitch as the position was not getting updated as well
Haha what a lucky game for anish, Maybe this can be his tournament if luck favors him

The way he tooked the knockout shows, what kind of man he is. He maybe did not win the game, but the respect of most chessplayers i guess.
And hopefully he´ll come back stronger.

Anish really slammed the clock after playing his last move

Those silent 10 second gap between anish slamming the clock and the handshake was really intense.

This is where chess is so brutal sometimes

I feel for him that wasn't the blunder of the game but for the whole year

I'm not into chess at all and I felt that pain inside mr. Rasmus. Chess is his life and the pain had to be like close to losing a dog or something..

It's quite hard to convert these types of endgames. In the position in which Svane blundered Kh5, the only winning move would have been Qa7+, pushing the black king temporarily to the back (he had more chances earlier on, but as pointed out elsewhere, it's not trivial)

That's the element right there which you cannot see in online chess. It is running a marathon on a treadmill vs seeing Kipchoge break the 2 hour mark on live streets.

What a great game from Rasmus with an unlucky end. Congratulation for both players and greetings from lake chiemsee in Germany 🚗🦣🏍🎄

after watching this video, I will support Rasmus in future tournaments (although I'm Russian). I really feel strong empathy to this guy

Rasmus looked really calm even though he must be kicking himself. I think I would have banged my head on the table like there is no tomorrow….
