I was born in 1960 in West London, massive West Indian community. Was a white boy minority at school, had a great time, made lifelong friends, reggae, lovers rock, soul, the music was and is incredible, I hit 60 this year, still have a large group of friends that I still see, mixed black and white, music, football and girls bought us together and kept us together and I am eternally grateful for my friends.

I was 18 when this came out. Now 64. Still love it. Memories of another life. All those girls I chased then, are all grandmas now. Where did it all go ? Hey, it was a jam back then !

It's 2023 and I walked past a pub in Dartford today and heard a familiar song playing loudly and knew I recognised it from didn't realise it was 44 years ago when I loved this song. It takes me right back to being a teenager searching for the love of his life

Me and my friends took acid whilst listening to John Peel late one night in the 90's and this song came on. We were in absolute awe, I've liked this record ever since.

Can't stop coming back to listen to this. I still have the 12'' I bought back then, but too lazy to get it out and play it. so much easier to listen here.😄

Steve McQueen's film 'Lovers Rock' brought me here. Wonderful movie, fabulous music and, here, the great Janet Kay, still rocking lovers all over the world.

I can't help thinking about how lucky I was to be a little white Irish/English boy brought up in the South Asian and West Indian communities of West London . As I approach 60, this throws up the cultures that carried me throughout a difficult childhood x

One of the sweetest musical intro's to a song. Blessed to grow up with this. Lovers rock and school days 😍❤

This woman was utter utter class. You just feel great listening to the technical brilliance of her voice. Evokes some lovely memories when singers reaaly were singers.
