Max Verstappen and Red Bull opted to Boycott Sky Sports and not give them any interviews during the F1 Mexican GP. Has the boycott once again brought to light the 'British Bias' that the F1 media gets accused of?

Ex Pat 110% Agree with Max, and the Team... The one person does all of this for self gratification... The Sky Spirit Team for the best part are awesome!

I live in the UK, the British Sky F1 team are bias toward LH, they are not happy unless they are talking about LH, I have dumped Sky because of the British Sky F1 commentary team. I put Sky F1 on for the USA qualifying, in the first ten minutes they talked about LH for eight minutes. After putting up with their bias commentary for years I decided enough was enough and did not renew my contract with them. Their commentary bias came to a head a few years ago when all through the races all they talked about was LH, After the viewers complained they did tone it down.

If they were some regional or local broadcasters then I wouldn't mind them being biased to one driver or one team but they are international broadcasters of F1 which is why
it is easy for them to spread their narrative across the world even if it is toxic. It is like some bullshit political propaganda the way they televise it which I don't like

He did it with Netflix and now he did it with Sky. The reason is simple be objective when you report! and for you the same be objective (get the facts right)

Instant subscribe. For a "Casual Fan", you laid out a fairly detailed and well researched case here. The SkySportsF1 team bias is concerning and completely unnecessary, there are dozens of independent channels, podcasts and blogs that are able to perform analysis and commentary on the sport/races/drivers and teams without bias, even while admitting that they have favorite teams and drivers. This has been going on with the British media and SkyF1 for years. It's a global sport.

I live in th USA. I turn the sound off whenever I watch a race. I can't stand listening to croft! It would be nice to have options!

Sky needs to fire those bias reporters. No good can come from this for Sky if they keep doing this.

It’s just dissing again…. Nobody robbed Lewis of anything that wasn’t even his to begin with. Makes you wonder if he went for a pitstop doesn’t it?

Hi Mr Casual,

Max Verstappen is consistent, not talking to Netflix and with Sky Sports for me basically the same reason.

As always casually cheers!

The problem is that Brits are so used to succes, that they simply cant handle not to have any. Join the club guys, this is how the rest of the world has been feeling for a decade, and more.

I think Sky isn't so much British biased, but just focused on glorifying Lewis. They don't seem to care about the performance of Lando Norris or George Russell...

Its not maxx fault, not even British bias, most f1 commentators and journalists were given too much powers to express their opinion forgetting they are working, no governance, and the stupid drive to survive

Three things - 1. I think RB have the right to talk or not talk to whoever they want, although it seems a little childish. 2. Does anyone else remember when James Hunt was a broadcaster? His commentary was great, but I'm sure it was also off-putting to the drivers who were on his bad side. It was far worse than what Kravitz said. 3. Lastly, this started way before the comments Kravitz made at COTA. The Sky Christmas ad with the Verstappen crash at Silverstone was disgusting, and the comments and digs continued from there. I believe 100% that there is a British bias in these broadcasts. Sam Hunt calling Verstappen overrated, the questions about crashes, the "open letters" telling him not to crash on purpose... it's all designed to sway opinion or cater to a specific viewpoint.

Even though I love sky sport especially crafty even Teddy's OK But they are 100% British bias I mean they are British Podcast but they very are British bias. they exadurate the British drivers. they need to change their prospect because it's a global sport

As the British papers back the narrative and, instead of actually take a moment to reflect on what has been said by Max and RB, they just fuel the fire. It’s quite hypocritical of that first newspaper to compare Max to a totalitarian dictator: it appears they themselves will shut down and even shame any opinion that contradicts their own.
