So glad the ‘tough guy’ sport of hockey has evolved to where guys like Patrick can talk about mental health and be a role model for young fans that might be struggling.

Patrik Laine speaks the truth and that's just amazing. He's one of a kind. Love you man !

Great to see him back and doing well on and off the ice. It can’t be easy for professional athletes who come in with such high expectations especially when they don’t perform up to everyone’s expectations. The pressure must be tough to manage. Sure they get paid extremely well but we must keep in mind that they are only human. No amount of money changes that.

I have always enjoyed him as a player, now I see him more than that. Speak kind your self.

So glad this subject is out in the open. We all suffer at one time or another.

I've just recently gotten better at speaking to myself in a much kinder way. I've always been bad with the self-hate.

Glad this is being normalized. I will cheer for Laine, even when he plays against the Leafs!

....and say nice things about other people too! Then your brain really has no idea if you're talking to yourself or someone else, and it'll just assume you're a nice person, making everyone feel better!

Patrik Laine was linemates with Johnny Gaudreau, and yet he doesn’t ever talk about playing with him. He only has a post about him on his insta. He acts like Columbus didn’t have any good moments for him.

Am I crazy, or was this interview some sort of AI? His jersey didn’t move, and that air Canada logo seems more pronounced than it should?

Most fans dont want to talk about this stuff. Just like most fans DONT want pride night. We want the illusion of our players being super human manly men. We dont want to hear about the touchy feely stuff. That why the fan base in Vancouver is fed up with Pettersson and loves Miller. We're sick of this week crap. Now go ahead & delete my comment.. Or let the beta men try to come at me.
