Wiring Cheap brushless Gimbal Tilt control with servo tester for gopro or similar

A few people have asked for a video showing the wiring of the servo tester to gimbal tilt channel, these servo testers are all over ebay for a couple of dollars search "servo tester".

You will also need a male to male servo cable, these are very common and often come with the gimbals.

The most important thing is to check the labelling on servo tester it will have S or a sqiqggle for signal, + for positive, - for negative, the white or orange wire on cable goes to Signal - be very careful not to plug the cable in across the connections (ie across all three - pins) as this will short out the gimbal controller causing damage.

The gimbal side has two columns of three pins, one column will be tilt control, the other roll, and signal wire is labelled on the instruction sheet for mine it was furthest from the board, if you get this the wrong way round its harmless, as you will connect signal to ground, so gimbal won't respond to servo tester, but no damage will occur.

Hope this is useful.

You can get these cheap 2 axis brushless gimbals for gopro or similar all over the place, from ebay etc, so I suggest you search for the cheapest seller in your country, but this one came from here:

Hi, I have a handmade gimbal. I wanted to install the potentiometer to regulate the invitation. A query: Does the tester need power to move the cardan? Or only with the signal wire already works. Because the gimbal works at 12 v (lipo 3s). and the tester only accepts 5 v. Thank you

The on/off switch is added to the red wire of the JST connector that is connected to the controller board?

Could you make a video on how you did everything with the gimbal? From when you received it, did you just plug and play the servo tester and attach it to the paint pole extension tube or was it more difficult than that?

+jamesb72 On the video you said to not plug the male to male plug in vertically as it will cause damage to the gimbal I accidently did this whilst in a hurry and my gimbal wont power on anymore. Would you possibly now how to fix this?
