Escanor's only weakness was that he was a human. If the Supreme Deity blessed him with an angelic body, he would have been invincible. Imagine Escanor being able to use his "The One" form anytime he wants to with no downsides. That would be OP AF.

Meliodas formed the Seven Deadly Sins with 7 people to counter the Ten Commandments. But Escanor alone has the strength and the ability to counter 9 out of them.
Truth: He cannot be deemed liar if he truely believes that he's on top of all clans
Love: He look down on people even when they're strong, not a bit of anger
Faith: His faith to Merlin is literally immortal, like Ban and Elaine
Patients: He is so strong and so prideful that he reject every pain he gets
Piety: He never run from any fight (Except if the opponent is Merlin, then he automatically lose)
Purity: His pride is so pure and strong that no one can do anything, even the Demon King
Repose: He's so strong he doesn't even need to fight without rest, and even if the commandments works on him, then his physical ability alone can easily kills Gloxinia
Reticence: He doesn't even have hidden feelings, he just straight up express everything out
Selflessness: His desire is only to work and fight with the team. He's not even desire to have Merlin loves him back.

The only Commandments he (maybe) can't counter is Pacifism, cause when he kills someone infront of Greyroad then he will have his lifespand taken and die cause he's a human.

What I love the most about this scene is the reactions, from Melascula when Escanor cut him to half, from Galand when his attack didn’t do shit, from Jericho and from Melascula when she ate his soul .. these reactions were priceless
