oo ABOUT NICK MASON AND THE SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS oo
Nick Mason, Gary Kemp, Guy Pratt, Lee Harris and Dom Beken, aka Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets, came together with the simple idea of playing some early Pink Floyd - the songs pre ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ - that had not been given a live outing for decades! This was the first time Nick had played live since Live 8 in 2005! “Why don’t we get a rehearsal room and play some things and see how we feel about it?” Nick suggested...

A few months later, on Sunday 20 May 2018, Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets took Pink Floyd’s drummer back to the clubs for the first time since 1967 - Dingwalls in Camden, London. The performance was met with huge adulation across the board**.

Three nights at the Half Moon in Putney followed that same week before announcing a theatre tour through the UK, North America and Europe from September, and they promptly sold out! A handful of extra UK shows were announced for April and May 2019, including two nights at The Roundhouse - the venue where Pink Floyd first played on 15 October 1966, at the International Times launch party.

Nick Mason in his late 70's and showing us what a huge drummer & musician he actually is. Hats off everybody!

Went to their show in Detroit Friday night. Sitting 5th row center, my lower back throbbing from the $200 folding chair that was my space capsule for just over 2 hours, it was worth every penny to literally have my soul hand dipped in 100+ decibels of this song. By about the 6th minute the ache had started to be washed away by Nick and his Mates... Brilliant show, except that I realized at 2am on Saturday that no matter the source of how many hundreds of dollars I might spend on headphones, it will never measure up...

I was so lucky to see Pink Floyd on their Saucer tour in 1967. It was a fairly small venue in LA at the Shrine Exhibition Hall. David had just filled the lead guitar and vocal slot. It was totally amazing. The final time I saw them was in San Diego for Division Bell. with six more shows in between. The only show I really missed was the Wall so I did pretty good. I'm right up there in age with David and Nick. So sad to have lost Richard. Their music will live forever.

This is a Pompeii level jam. Wonderful! It's great to see Nick and the band jamming like early Floyd.

Sure, Animals, Dark Side, Wish You Were Here are all great, but there's some extra special charm that comes with early Floyd. Perfection.

Dave and Roger argue. Nick say's let's do something. Good Man. I can see them (when this shit is somewhat over) playing the O2 ...This is what a lot of people, myself included want to hear..and see. Nice one Nick...keep this going.

I can say good things about every iteration and era of the Floyd, but MY personal favourite is the early stuff, post Barrett, pre Dark Side. This is such a masterful performance. Good on Nick for re-creating live the most underrated part of their career, I wish I could have been there for this!

What a fantastic version. It's great to see just how committed they all are to the performance and how they enter right into the original vibe of the song.

I always knew Nick was a fundamental figure for Pink Floyd's concept. He taught the new guys the true heart of the sound he helped to shape so long ago.

i never saw floyd as a four piece but I did go see Nick & the lads at Royal Albert Hall and quite frankly it transported to a time, place and realisation that I truly enjoy this period of floyd....even though for most of my life i thought it was all about a few songs before meddle but mostly about after it. really hope i can see them again and nick and his crew keep plodding on for a little bit longer
