This has always been my FAVORITE song from Prince since it first came out. I was singing along as loud as I could to every single word. I know every single beat of this song by heart. Ughhhh... it's SOOO GOOD!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤ I wish more people would react to this!

Always love this song and how Prince made this so persona. Purple Rain isn't a Oscar film but its an excellent representation of Prince Rodgers Nelson and would recommend you watch it. Lots of great music like this in film/soundtrack

This song hits different now because I’m head over heels for someone but she’s in a situationship, which is worse because technically that door is open. So when he’s up there screaming out “DO YOU WANT HIM OR DO YOU WANT ME? CUZ I WANT YOU!!!” while pointing AT her………….i feel it! 😢😢😢😢

In an interview with Susan Rogers, his sound tech engineer she said he did this song completely by As he had done earlier. Mind boggling. An artist like this is extremely rate....indeed on another level and despite his success still vastly underrated.

My favorite artist ever. I still remember the exact traffic light we stopped for and me asking my dad to turn the radio volume up as I HAD to know whose song was - When doves cry. Next week I bought the Purple rain album, soon after the older albums and now I have his complete (up till now) discography, lots of bootlegs, the side/related bands. Best artist ever!

Yes, the year that this movie came out it was the number one movie in the box office and his album that went along with the movie was the number one album in the world. I think that was the first and only time that somebody had the number one movie and number one album out at the same time
