At 1:40 there is a video cut you can clearly see that there is no spades on top of deck or 3rd or 4rth position after the video cut there is another deck in the which has already in the order and also he used special deck wich has one short sides so you can cut the cards from any position where card is placed easily this is how he performed the trick
