Please dont ask for a carbomb, American tourists. Its not funny in Ireland where we have suffered from actual car bombs.

Seán bar in athlone is the oldest. I’m so glad you went to Gallagher’s Boxtyhouse incredible food I grew up on boxty. They also do a dinner boxty like a crêpe so they wrap food in it which is really fabulous.
When in Ireland never never never asked for a car bomb it makes light of the troubles. Sounds like you met a nice person who was polite to you. Many people on both sides of the border are still affect by the troubles.
You definitely seems like you embrace the culture of the people.

The surfing out west is very good I know they have competitions I don’t know when that is.

I wish you had gotten over to the Docklands and the grand canal which is a lovely newer area that’s where all the tech companies are but it’s a beautiful neighborhood. It looks like you enjoyed.

"authentic Irish food", "authentic Irish music", "authentic Irish coffee", ... You're in Ireland, of course it's authentic

FYI the Irish Car Bomb is not a think here as it is literally named after violence up the North and the IRA bombing of cars. It would be a bit insensitive to sell it here… Baileys is a really Irish drink too. Very popular if you have people over around Christmas. The Irish eggnog😉🤣

Brazen head is the oldest in dublin, but the oldest pub in ireland is in athlone in the middle of the country going since 900 ad

Apparently, an Ireland do never ask for an Irish car bomb. Always ask for an Irish slammer.

Lived in Dublin for over 2 years and this was a decent cross section. A few spots to add are Searsons for sheperds pie, Mcgrattans for Guinness stew, and Sheehans for a pint and a burger.

Sheehans is just off Grafton, and the other 2 are off Lower Baggot . Any cabbie will know the spots. mcgrattans has a small peat fireplace which is nice on a cold and wet day.

Gallagher is pronounced galla-her!! Really weird that as an Irish citizen I’ve not once seen the book of kells, or ever went to boxty, and I’ve lived as a Dubliner for all 21 years of my life😭 glad you liked it

Just watched your Ireland vids. Weather can be lovely in Ireland. My childhood summers were spent on the beach there (maybe chilly at times but we didn't care!) Best of luck in future travels.

Fun fact: you got your fun fact wrong

The toll to cross the bridge back in the day was half a penny actually, hence the ha'penny nickname.
