lol I'm actually super confused by the math of ZvZ tbh; maybe just that I've not watched enough ZvZs to have the right idea of it yet, idk. For the majority of the times I watched ZvZ (which was predominantly ASL btw) the 1 going hatch 1st would die unless the other was a lesser zerg who makes huge blunders. And then here I am watching the spire 1st dude dies after doing everything right including the micro.
I mean it's not that I can't comprehend the individual things that happened; Soma had an extra hatch and extra larvas, and it is very hard to hold off speedlings once the ramp is breached, even with a sunken. But what keeps me confused is the win conditions of these builds. It seems that if you make enough lings at the right time then you could still breach a perfectly ling-walled ramp and win the game. So would this mean the spire 1st build will extinct soon once everyone starts to copy what soma did?
