What is wrong with this nest?

Recently I've been checking on the baby chicks and it seems like a mother may have abandoned the nest. As soon as I went to check, I saw that there was an egg that was at the front of the mailbox and looked to be taken out by the mother and when I went around to the back I saw that the baby bird's foot was possibly broken and they were both extremely hungry, what do you guys think?

Bird rehabber here- the foot isnt broken, its at a weird angle and may have a calcium deficiency (which will correct with time or the bird will adapt as its very minor.

I see some comments id like to address as well-
1. These are the same species of bird. Birds lay eggs every couple of days, as such some are much smaller and some larger, both are completely fine and look quite fine. IF you are really concerned about any chicks call your local wildlife aids, feeding chicks is extremely tricky and needs a skilled hand who knows what theyre doing.

2. Dont visit the nest of birds this much ever, the stress put on the mother and the chicks is incredible even if not seen by us. This mother should have easily been able to raise 4-5 healthy chicks with ease. As well as the constant disturbance will disturb the air within the mail box and shift the tempature wildly for the eggs/chicks.

3. NEVER add or remove eggs from a wild nest, not only is it highly illegal it endangers the living chicks as well as population of the species. Different eggs/chicks can have parasites, different incubation times, different diets and needs. Most of all a mother is highly likely to abandon her nest when disturbed that way.

Honestly, I think you should stop disturbing the nest. I think the mom might abandon it because of that

Its not broken, and you need to stop dosturbing this nest. You already caused problems by putting an egg inside of it, now leave it alone and stop your clout chasing, this is a protected species and you are causing troubles to them. I repeat LEAVE THIS NEST ALONE. If you wanted to watch it next time you can put a mini-camera inside, but opening can disturb them and in a week or so next time you open it the young birds will be scared and will fly away too soon and get eaten. Stop this shit NOW

Are people not understanding that this is a literal child by the looks of it? The intention was good. I wouldn’t know it’s endangered either. Now you know, leave nature well enough alone. It’s unfortunate but seriously people are attacking a child. That’s the craziest part of this to me.

its not true if you touch a baby bird the mom will abandone the babies but if you keep scaring the mom away she will abandone them just open it like every 3 days so she does not abandone them

I feel that the younger bird isn't being fed, idk I feel that the older one will be getting fed more. Maybe try feeding the younger one if that doesn't interupt anything
