I had the left gear of a Pilatus fold up while taxing for departure. The lights still indicated 3 green. The gear broke off at the trailing link pivot.

Excellent report that basically tells it all.

So sad, RIP pilot. I hope everyone injured fully recover and don't have any further issues.

I remember an old WWII mechanic telling me, , Aircraft Maintenance Delayed, Invites Decay...

I landed in a king air 1900 and we lost the left undercarriage as well. We slid the same as that jet. It was found that that Trunion pin had broken in half at the hole where the grease pushes through. Our pin was bone dry

Clear video of the underside of the plane just before the crash?! Wow. And I was just glad that there was video of the landing/crash.

Interesting. Thank you for the food for thought.

Good report, nice to see that the YouTube Aviation Establishment hasn’t kicked you out 👍

I worked on a Bonanza where we did a gear swing. One gear would start to swing a fraction of a second later than the other, going up or down. Turned out a pivot bolt was almost frozen/corroded solid. It most certainly would have popped a breaker or damaged the transmission and made manual extension impossible.

Why are ufo and bigfoot pics so blurry? But some drunk golfer can make this picture perfect.

The Lear is owned by Vince Neil of Motley Crue, and it hit a Gulfstream owned by actor Vince Vaughn. What are the odds?

Thank you for the information I hope more people listen to you.

Not an airplane/ jet mechanic but am pretty sure they know that grease does not compress, SO WHERE IS IT GOING and why? Did he and the grease push the pin half out?

Saves the dogs THEN the other passenger. Nice human.
