2021 F150 issues with IHC drop kit.

I have a 2021 F150 with a 4-inch front 6 inch rear drop using control arms in the front and a flip kit in the rear. on the highway the axle was bottoming out on the frame and the front air dam is scraping the highway when you hit dips in the highway. I took the bed off and put it under bed Notch kit on it so that the frame doesn't bottom out anymore. After that I started noticing some other rubbing on the highway I got underneath the truck and checked and the driveshaft is hitting 2 of the crossmembers. I had a custom driveshaft made cost around $930 for a two piece driveshaft the new carrier bearing will bolt to the crossmember that it was rubbing on. I like the way the truck looks with the lowering kit but the are issues. I have new Intro rims on order. they've been on order for about twelve weeks still haven't come in yet. the new wheels will raise the truck about an inch which will help me because the frame drags the driveway when I come in and out of my driveway at home. Lifting the truck one inch with the new Wheels should solve that problem. Just beware when you lower your vehicle l, there are a lot more issues than just putting a kit on it.

Do you think with a 3/5 drop you will have the same issues ?

I currently have a 3/5 and I kept asking why my driveshaft kept hitting in my cab. So now I know that I need the airbag kit. At this point I’m going to level it and put mudding tires. Thanks for the help

Just a heads up installed a 3/5 on my 2019 f150 4x4 and the kit they sent me was for 2021, after contacting them about their mistake they assured me that all would fit, Right 🤔 first mistake was believing that, so off I go to install great 👍🏻 right well not so much first thing directions are very very vague and their pictures are something left to the imagination so on I press get the rear done first since it’s the hardest part, well the shackle they sent me for the 1 inch lift to compensate for the axle flip does not let the top shackle bolt clear the frame on the backside, yes you guessed it it rubs the frame now, ok deal with that later so on press get the rear done including the air bags and tractions bars, so another call to Victor at IHC ask him about shock extension bracket sent with kit, oh yes must use it great but the holes are drilled at least 1/4 inch off on one side well that doesn’t work so try with out and it clears the shock and bag just fine 🤔 close but works and now we move on to the front not so bad right so I thought Year it all down and start the reassembly ok here we go upper control in check, lower control arm in check now the spindle assembly great, upper ball joint in ok lower ball joint in great now for the nuts on both ball joints well the top needs washers to make for the long taper joint to make the castle nut fit great they send 2 ok put them on it fixes the top now the bottom guess what yes you need more washers there as well so off to the parts store and pick up more washers great 🤬 finally get back to it I’m feeling a little pissed at this point so I press on hey get one side done and the other will be easier 🤔Right now the other side does go better but not much power thru I say so I did put it back together great it’s low. Now to the alignment shop great I’m almost done well not yet alignment shop lines it up wrong back I go again still wrong I’m going in my 3 rd alignment in less than 4 days I know before y’all say it you did something wrong ! Well not true I’ve raised many trucks over the years and worked on countless vehicles always managed to keep customers happy with my work but this outfit IHC suspensions is a complete joke from the word they screwed up order and tried to smooth things over and act like it’s all good but after several phone calls and yea I talked to Victor on several occasions. He assured me the kit was the same and would I quote work just didn’t need all the parts that they sent so great I have extra parts that I can’t use on my truck and paid for after they where to send me a box to send extra pieces back to receive credit 🤔 We’ll that’s been since December 29 of 2022 and you guessed it no box and no credit 😁surprise right well . Not one to bash people but damn 2 grand for a top of the line kit and you can’t get it right from the start and then parts don’t exactly fit more of a hammer in kit at best. I think the front suspension parts are ok with a bit of tweaking.Ling story short a lot of extra stuff to make it fit and it doesn’t seem to bother them that it’s not a bolt on kit Good 😊 Luck if you buy one

I am in the middle of installing the 4-6 kit on my truck (same as yours) I just found your video. Now I know
what else to expect. Thanks for the heads up. I wish IHC would have pre warned of this.

Why did you have to go with a 2-piece?

Now i am thinking twice about the drop kit. Looks great but maybe not worth it in my area with all the bad roads.

I purchased a 4/6 drop from IHC for my '23 reg cab 6.5 bed. I also got the driveshaft rubbing. Contacted IHC and they reccomended the bag kit. I told them my plan was to always get the bag kit but not right this second. The kit doesn't warn a customer AT ALL of the driveshaft clearance issues. My truck has 1, 600 miles on it and I've now got 2 lines on the driveshaft just like you. Still going to try and see if maybe they'll give me a discount on the bag kit, because this is a load of crap. Worse comes to worst, do you have any specs on that driveshaft you had made???

I'm considering this kit as well. I was wondering if I could avoid notching the frame with a combo of a 0.5-1" lift shackle and helper bags. Do you think that would have been sufficient for you? I live in Houston as well so... I get it..!

Also a customer of Houston Drive Line.. they worked on my 02 f150 shaft.. great guys!

You think it would have been an issue if it was a 3/5 drop?
