Jamstack Is Dead... Or Is It? Architecture In Depth

Ah yes, one of the most controversial and confusing terms in web development for the past 5 years
What even is Jamstack? Let's talk about the jamstack architecture in depth, it's roots against server-driven architectures through the use of static site generators and edge CDN hosting, and how it turned into the thing it set out to destroy - yet another server-driven architecture.

This was a great history lesson video. I remember the jam stack marketing phase, I never understood the point because every app I’ve ever built requires highly dynamic data shared between users of the system. It felt like hype during a phase where everyone was finding better ways to build a blog site 😂

I like it when the lambda box rotates. 10/10. ... Great video! Super informative and the diagramming was very helpful!

This was a fantastic video on the history of CDN-enabled architectures (including a.k.a JAMstack). Thank you for posting.

the good old design to scale to moon approach.
dont use monolith because you want infinite scalability, but if you ever reach that scale, then Netlify or Nextjs wont be economical.

I think that good parts from old monolithic architecture and jamstack are combined to make a good ux and that's what users care about and companies want to deliver so in the end users won

I'm uncomfortable with you calling CDN an Edge
