A lot of people can thank the Blues Brothers movie for hearing this song for the first time I'm glad I can thank my 95 year old father for that. The Hook is the point blank definition of a bluesman.

I were 12 when I first heard John Lee. My Dad saw how I would rewind and play that 20 second clip of boom boom that I had recorded on a vhs tape. He went out and got me a John Lee Hooker best of album. I never got nothing for free as a kid. The last verse of this song makes sense now I'm older.
