It’s crazy that this is limited to 16 channels. Seems to have missed the spot a bit. Limit the console UAD2 slots to 16 channels, and still let us have access to all 64 channels in a DAW. Then you’d have had something. All this does is replace the old Live Rack without the added bonus of redundant PSU.

It really bothers me that the power supply is not built in...
Makes it way harder to use in a professional environment

This is great! I have so much dante gear now and this is a great way to integrate things with uad plugins! I do hope they also release expansion cards with dante and thunderbolt so i can upgrade my 2 x8p units. I am very into this release tho

Wish it had some analog I/O. I think this is a step in the right direction for some. A couple of DB25s for AD/DA would crush. It seems like its just a Dante plug in host! Am I wrong?

I’m using a Ql1, adat card and aes card with an old Apollo giving me 10 inserts, lower latency and much lower cost. Plus I have analog inputs. I like this but a simple card for the older devices or satellite that allowed Dante inserts would have sufficed.

Hi Paolo! Did UA update the converter on these new Apollos? Cheers!

I don't get it, they're going the native route with spark and now they make a u-turn with a plugin box!?

Are we ever getting new rack units with improved tech? Been a while with the same old

It boggles my mind that they made a rack unit with an external power brick. That just killed 90% of my interest in this unit, even though a UAD Dante interface is LONG overdue.

(Also, only sixteen channels seems a bit of an odd choice, but that one I can live with even if it's not ideal.)

If using multiple x16, does each need to be on dante, or does the x16D act as the main device and others are linked through TB3? Basically if i want 64ch in dante does each x16 need to be dante equipped? Or just 1? The apollo connectivity side of dante was not shown and how the uad boxes interact with each other over dante and how it interacts with console.

If I want to do dobly atmos with genelec speakers it only will use one cable ? Can you do a video for Atmos ?

No rugged etherCON ports. Risky for a Dante device intended for live use. If someone trips on a Cat 5 cable it will rip out the rear ports of the Apollo

I ain't got get bugged again bouncing my mix with that annoying analog noise!!
I guess they got that fixed, that's a big audio interface it shouldn't have any bullshit going on in background anymore.

Is it just me or does this look absolutely disappointing? Especially for this crazy high price.
