updating firmware

Firmware update to V2.2
1. Format TF card to FAT-32 / 32K first.
2. Download the firmware (FIREFLY6.BIN) to TF card.
3. Put the TF card into FIREFLY 6 (make sure battery above 50 percent).
4. Power on FIREFLY 6 and it will update firmware automatically.
5. When updating, the LED will flash.
6. When update finish, the machine will reboot automatically.
7. Delete the firmware file (FIREFLY.BIN) in the TF card.

1. Improve Gyro image stabilizaion function further(That will be better).
2. Improve WDR.
3. When there are no external USB power plug in, no operation for 2 minutes, it will auto power off for saving battery power.

Not a bad camera but seems its not capable of converting a typical UK day into Sunny California day!You have some amazing footage here.Loved your paragliding footage from minute 23:00 onwards.Lucky the residents of that white house on top of cliff (Minute  24:35). Just wondering how much a house like that is priced at your location. Do you know of any good camera with good fisheye effect removed? I am looking for one for quad and current gopro or Sony are all good but not adequate to remove fisheye effect of wide lens. More importantly, I still can't get rid of jello effect and seems you can't get that done unless using a good gimbal and I haven't tried ND filter yet. Just wondering if the gyro in this camera is able to help and substitute a gimbal?All beautiful and thanks for sharing.

The camera does not film in true 4K. The resolution is slightly less. I have one and it is a good camera best at 1080p 60fps. However the manufacturer has been misleading about the true specs. It films at a max of 2880 x 2160p lower than true 4K at 3840 x 2160p. It is just that some players will see it as full 4K but any decent editing software doesn't and knows its not true 4K.

looks as if the main difference in this one and the 7s is the screen on the back of the 7s and no screen on this one...
i have the older version of the upair one quadcopter and i believe the detatchable camera is actually the firefly 5s model...
the screen is no biggie for me as ill be using a firefly with the hdmi cable hooked up to a 3dr solo for fpv...so the screen is not needed there lol...
i think ill go for the 6s...i also have the q6 version that looks like the runcam...very nice one to...the q6...

Well that's a relief. This is the 3rd "brand" of cam with Novatek NT96660 chipset and IMX078 12M sensors that have the dreaded white "ghost blob" in the lovely blue sky when shooting from land over water with sky background. So not just the Explorer Elite it seems.includes both Firefly 6S and 7S vids too, around 21:45 see sky ghost out.
Like the front LED though. With waterproof housing can't see tiny blue LED at all and ElE Explorer Elite the top yellow LED is used ONLY for WiFi ... bah ... miss a lot of surfing but have hours of sitting around waiting for waves or paddling aimlessly my rough head a foot from the cam. Not good.

Thank you for you detailed review of this camera. After watching your review I bought 2 of these. I've been playing around at my desk and plan to actually take it out on the road tomorrow for a real world test. I am having an issue with connecting with wifi. My phone says it's connected to "Firefly" but by the time I open Finalcam, maybe 10 seconds, the camera shuts off?? Any ideas? The camera has version 2.6 which has a couple extra menu features not listed in the instruction manual. My Android has the latest OS

what kind of range do you get while connected to the camera in live view. reason I ask is am a Fisherman and am looking for a camera to attach to my bait boat but am able to see the live view from my phone about 200 yards away

Due to the lack of clarity in the AOV test footage here, it's hard to make out whether the cam is digitally zooming in and stretching it to fit the resolution or if it is sensor cropped like on the GoPro which maintains the resolution at high quality. If someone could please reply to me on this point with some valid info, that would clear the thin line between me considering this cam and ordering it immediately. I'm confident of this camera's quality by watching a number of videos here (considering YT's compression ofcourse) and I think at 1080p30, it does a pretty awesome job for the price. JUUUUST this one hiccup in my head regarding the AOV .. Someone please clarify this for me asap, really appreciate it, cuz I'd like to place an order for this in under 24hrs. Thank you.

@bobflyman, on your out and about section at 21:47, you do a pan from R>L of the harbour. Roughly about a sixth of the way-in from the left boarder of the video there's a wave/warping effect. Is that a distortion of the camera lens or from whatever you used to edit the video? Thanks

thank you for your review i was actually sold in to buy this camera but i can not use it because every sd card i used class 10 from 4-32gb i get the message card full!!!! my firmware is the 2.6 and i have formatted the card in fat32 several times but the problem persists. i tried to reinstall the firmware but is impossible to do it . ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE????
