A woman who died in a fire made a desperate phone call to her husband while flames engulfed the house, a relative has said.

The woman’s shouts of “fire, fire” through the phone prompted her husband to run to the blazing house in south east London on Thursday evening, according to the husband’s cousin, who gave his name only as Jega.

Around 40 London Fire Brigade (LFB) firefighters in six engines and officers from the Metropolitan Police also rushed to the semi-detached terrace on Hamilton Road in Bexleyheath at around 8.30pm.

The Met said two women and an infant boy and girl, all believed to be related, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Just round the corner from where I live. A 4 yr old boy and an 18 month old girl with their mum and grandma I think. The man who jumped out of the window was the kids uncle. They'd only been living there a few months. So sad

When I was 7 my brother and I set fire to some curtains and up the hallway went. We guiltily ran and hid under my mums bed until the raging fire in the hallway woke her up. Imagine her shock, just touching the door handle informed her of the hell awaiting anyone trying leave this room, and since we lived in a flat some four floors up, it was the only way. So so so luckily, a passerby had seen the fire and very luckily the phone box was right outside the flats. 42 years ago now, can still so vividly recall the absolute terror, and the huge arms of the fireman that picked me up, carried me downstairs whilst trying to calm me got you buddy" ...kissed me on my forehead.
Bless you four whoever you are x

Why is no credit given to the two Met police who were first on the scene and entered the building without breathing apparatus, risking their own lives? One ended up in hospital for smoke inhalation and both struggle with the memory of what they witnessed.

I reported a strange response to this video…. Was quite frankly VERY INAPPROPRIATE almost sounded like a confession. Did anyone else see it?…. Are police responding to it ????
