The 402s had a very unique sound because the were made from nickel silver NS12. Hard to find now days.

well actually the PST 3s are comparable to the 302s, since they are brass. Paiste or any other brand for that matter doesn't offer a NS12 alloy cymbal these days. So there's really no replacement for the 402s.

Yes they are replacement! :)
101 are replacement for 302.

What is better in your opinion? Paiste 402 or 502 hi hats? and for the crashes? Many thanks

Got lucky buying a Nice Pearl Kit with stands, cymbals. $100....the nice part was.... finding a set of NS Paiste 402 hats in the fold.
I love them.

Yep, PST3 are mading now like replacement for this, but PST3 are shit

yuck... there it is again... that ugly, dry "clang" that you hear on every one of Paiste's non B20 ride cymbals. From the 1000's & 3000's to the RUDE's to the 404's & 505's to the 2oo2's & Signature Series... every one of them has that same awful Paiste "clangy" sound.

For some reason, I expected the 402's to sound different but, quite obviously, they do not.
