great Shane - your informative vlogs are better than any TV. Not coming from a cycling or a Technical background, I learn so much from you. Love it.

Great video Shane. I've got a set of P1s arriving today, particularly interested in what you can do with the LR data :)

Great review Shane, I would love to see the same for the Powertap C1 chainrings that recently purchased as my first power meter

The Powertap P1 dual pedals are the best value out there hands down right now. Stages is a close second in my opinion. But if you are right or left leg dominated, stages won’t know.

great analysis Shane...  I am very happy with my P1.  I took the big step when my hub finally went whack, and I really didn't like how Stages performed for me since I am more dominate in the left leg.  Thumbs up to PowerTap

Thank you, Shane. Great video as usual. Glad to hear it went well as I picked up a pair in December. I was a little surprised there was no mention of battery illness, however. :) Keep up the great work. I really enjoy the videos you make.

Shane your initial assessment is accurate as are the comments below that I've read. my experience with the P1 pedals received December 2015: HARD to clip in (sent me backwards at a race start). both spindle bearings failed well before 6 month warranty period. didn't realize this was a common issue and ended up pursuing warranty repair at 10 months and had to beg to avoid being charged (I'm in USA). couldn't update firmware as I don't have an iOS device. recently I have been having lengthy power dropouts in zwift and on my Garmin 520, when all other ANT+ stay paired and recording data. talking with support right now but I'm not convinced their approach is going to solve the problem. No qualms with accuracy but I've not done serious testing on that front. In the long run I'm kinda disappointed in this $1200US piece of kit.

Hi Lama, I own Look kéo pedals and their cleats are interchangeable with wellgo-powertap ones, as the Look have a smoother "slope" at the back part u may benefit from using them instead of wellgos. Great video as always.

Interesting how accurate you found the pedals to be, a rider at my club has gone through 3 sets of them as they read about 40w high in an ftp test vs his tacx neo. He subsequently moved to the garmin vectors and had no issues

Nice video, great data! They need to come out with a speedplay version. :) Also, do trainers like the neo or kickr measure left and right power output for this kind of analysis?

Great review Shane, its been a while since I've seen a Cervo. Props to the Stages, for what they are, I didn't expect them to track so while.

Xpedo cleats (6 or 0) are the same, I've been using both. I had same experience with almost no release tension, bought the 0deg, then find I don't have a preference now the release is tightened up.

The responsiveness you mention might explain why my stages power basically matched the p1 except I had consistently higher avg power in crits with the pt

Thanks for the informative video. Was thinking about these for a while and just ordered them. Hopefully they will be in good quality.

Great video, Shane. I am a big fan of the vlogging work that you do. I've recently gotten more seriously into cycling, having previously been a competitive distance runner, and am thinking of investing in a power meter to enhance my training. I am particularly interested in the P1 pedals for their portability. Is there any reason you would recommend a different power meter over these for a power meter virgin like myself? Thanks!
