What is the difference between pattern and rhythm? How can you make rhythm in something that you can't hear? How do you make different types of rhythm in art?

Rhythm is different from repetition
Pure repetition has only one element
Rhythm is different from pattern
Pattern is predictable
Rhythm has some repetition
Rhythm can also have some pattern
BUT rhythm is NOT predictable

Rhythm is how your eyes jump around the artwork.
If the elements are small, your eyes jump around softly. Like a grasshopper!
If the elements are large, your eyes jump around loudly. Like a elephant!

If there are only a few elements and they are spread apart, the visual rhythm is slow.
If there are lots of elements and they are close together, the visual rhythm is fast!
