Sad thing is, I would love a whole story about Maid Marian, giving her more depth than Robin Hood movies have done in the past.
But why make a movie where Marian is a Robin Hood rip-off and Robin a useless comic relief weakling?
Marian does not need a bow and a sword to be badass. She does not need to be Robin for her story to be worth telling.

Robin Hood is demasculated so Maid Marian looks stronger. I am so sick of seeing this done in recent films. They didn't have to demasculate the Terminator to make Sarah Conner look strong. Same goes for the men in Aliens. They were allowed to be strong and it wasn't a threat to Ripley's character.
