For this week's Show and Tell Will shares which flashlights he keeps in his pockets at all times. His high-power light costs less than other high-end LED flashlights, and is powered by a standard AA battery.

with android and cyanogenmod I have the flashlight in the energy options in the notification bar. It also comes with two brightness levels, and the bright one is absolutely enough for anything I would use a flashlight for.

Price is relative. Comparable prices for pedometers that connect to your phone or computer are between $80 and $200. Comparable prices for flashlights are between $5 and $50. And yes, we know you can spend more on flashlights.

Hi guys! Great video. I'm wondering, would it be possible when you make these videos, to add the links to the things your showing off? Like link to a web store that sells them or perhaps only the complete name in the description?

As I said, only an idea. Continue making great videos :)

Will, if you read these comments. The light blue eneloop is the eneloop lite which is rated at Min. 950mAh, where the normal white eneloop are rated at 1, 900mAh. there are also the black (pro) ones that are rated at 2, 450mAh. Wikipedia has a nice chart on the types.

I bought a house key at one of the hardware stores that has a little built in LED. Works pretty well for basic needs without taking up a lot of pocket space. Plus, it was very cheap.

One of the many drawbacks of the Iphone is you can't swap out the battery. If you're walking your dog, you might have the light on for a while, & that drains the battery quicker than anything. & as a tech guy, I not only have AA but tons of AAA batteries lying around. I even have an adapter you might like that takes AA & will charge your Iphone or Ipod. I keep it in my bag in case I can't find an outlet - which happens more often than I expected so I've used it a lot.

I use the same and run the rechargeables in it. Great little light that can take a beating!

I bought the Maglite XL200 LED because of the good amount of light it gives but also the dimming option (Being able to dim the light being the biggest reason I bought this version, I don't really use the other options myself). I don't like to carry such things in my pocket so the belt holder is great. Definitely bigger than the JETBeam from the video but a great little flashlight in my eyes.

Olight s10 baton! Over 300 lumens, (its 2.75") its shorter than a shotgun shell, magnetic tail cap, ipx8 waterproof, 72 hours running time battery life on moonlight mode, 5 different modes including strobe, it can even clip on to your hat and become a headlamp. This little light can shine around 300 feet on the ground. Its an absolutely beast that's fits anywhere. If your looking for a small light this light is a really good option.

Wow, that is slightly brighter than the one the same size I got from the dollar store. Dose it have a laser too?

Took mine down to make room for Jamie's, but some schedule complications arose, and Jamie hasn't been able to get his Tintype taken. Mine now already has a nice place in my parents hallway.

You really should list the make and model of the flashlights in the description.

A phone flash is about as bright as a 1xAAA light. As Will showed those are commonly carried on keys - no hassle to carry it as an extra item. No, it's not cheaper or more convenient to use an external power pack(as I already do with my Nexus 4)

My main light sits clipped to my left front pocket and it's literally a second to use or put away. Numerous times at bars someone drops something and I've found it before others have even found their phone. And sometimes, it's the phone you can't find.

Take Adam's advice and keep a dedicated phone pocket! Or at least find a plastic/rubber coated flashlight.
Also, don't state that a stainless steel cylinder won't damage your phone if put in the same pocket! Not to the tested crowd at least :)
Really nice the little flashlight!

4Sevens mini123 is what I EDC. If you like cr123 batteries I think it's very worth it at around $45 give/take. I want to say it is rated up to around 150 lumens, but that's just my best guess because I'm lazy and don't want to look it up. Three main modes: low/medium/high, as well as strobe/sos/beacon modes.

2 AAA. it has 3 modes ranging from around 10 lumens to 200 lumens and is crazy bright. it costs $40 online so its a bit more expensive then the Streamlight but it really is extremely durable and bright.
