Žižek connects Marx's surplus-value to Lacan's surplus enjoyment, and thus shows the relevance of Marx's critique of political economy to capitalism and contemporary political climate. The lecture was delivered at Pomona College on February 28th 2017.

Around 59:00 Brazil had, from 1979 to 1985, the Ministry of National Debureaucratisation. Their greatest achievement was removing the photo from the driver's license - then we had to carry to National ID with the driver's license to prove who we were ...

1:56:13 "One thing I like about Stalinism. People forget that under Stalinism..." *Blackout!* Is the person who cut this actively antistalinist? :D

If we only would be able to take into consideration Zizeks proposals about _LOVE_ & _FREEDOM_ Some core ideolgies, I claim, sooner or later simply would die out.
And I wish I had some friends to develop these views further, since Zizek never has time to do so 😊

you can find the sense of dogmaticism delinated and made more clear in the writings of g.k. chesterton, and also maybe berdyaev.

Zizek would benefit I think from reading Lotman.

This is, in many ways, the "fake" Zizek. Compared to his written achievements (for example, his magnum opus Less Than Nothing), this is nothing but some naive introductory shit for beginners. The difference is even scandalous and it only makes Zizek look "approachable" (or "palatable") to the masses, but "his heart is not really in it", as he likes to say it himself. The "real" Zizek that I know is a ridiculously insightful mind and an unprecedented "connoisseur of everything". The greatest living intelectual of our time.

Does anybody have the patience to spot the segment where he quotes something about God/Heaven and chaos (maybe, can't even remember it...)?

the first 5 minutes are so ideological to zizek, it doesn’t resemble thinking. i don’t understand his alignment to leftism, given his ability to think and his breadth on knowledge.

If nobody has noticed..he is a cocaine head. Around the 1:45 mark he is physically screaming for a bump, he is hitting his nose so hard to drain what remnants from his last hit as he can..

He is nobodies hero.

This squalor is called philosophy, these days?! Žižek makes observations or more precisely spews up various impressions loosely or totally unsupported by structure. It's a low effort delirium.
