Theory:-
I'm going to try to keep this short as possible, but this theory is based around the idea that the Jogan has a sort of suppressing power on Momoshiki. ALSO NOTE: My theory has a lot of holes in it as to why certain things happen, keep that in mind as you're reading this.

So remember the first time Momoshiki manifested in Boruto in the fight against Boro? The Karma pattern starts disappearing normally and goes in the direction back to Boruto's Karma on his hand:

r/Boruto - Boruto Theory -> Jougan + Boruto's Scar
But the Second time Momoshiki manifests, Boruto wakes up and breaks the horn off, and the Karma pattern disappears into Boruto's right eye, the same eye which he has the Jougan in:

I'm not 100% sure as to the reason why this is, feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments. Now, getting to how Boruto gets his scar, I really do think that Boruto won't be getting the scar during this fight with Code. Instead, later on when Momoshiki manifests again, he will try to gouge out Boruto's eye, and that will give him the scar.

I'm starting to think that the Jogan represents Boruto's consciousness and his strong will while the Byakugan is Momoshiki's will. I feel like this makes sense bc the Byakugan is taking the place of the Jogan, which is a metaphor for Momoshiki asserting his will over Boruto, and Karma Seal fading into his Jogan eye, is a metaphor for Boruto's will taking over/suppressing Momoshiki's.
