I prefer the current engine, I don't want to deal with the bluriness and smearing in UE5, and also Apex has this Half Life 2 charm to it, even if rendering engine is different it somewhat still feels familiar. Sometimes you can tell whether a game is made in Source Engine, UE5, Godot or Unity just by looking at it.

It would be so cool if you could physically interact with the environment too. For example maybe legends get a 5-10% longer slide duration when sliding in snow or rain. Or what if lightning strikes can be used to stop rats like if you sit on one spot for a prolonged period of time lightening will strike your legend causing damage with a thunder sound revealing your general area 🤔 what if running with the wind causes a slight speed boost depending on the speed
There’s so much that could be done ! Every game, couple of games, or season would have a randomized weather system essentially changing how you play the game and use the weather to your advantage!

for the love of god do not make apex 2.0 in unreal engine that engine will only make unreal performance issues for the players

I haven't played Apex since that event with the free legends but I know for sure this move will make or break the game, if it flops they're done for lmao

They said it will come out after the next battlefield game, that's probably coming near the end of the year. So expect Apex 2.0 in early 2026

Honestly this all sounds like it could be really cool. An important question i have though (because idk if this is like a whole new game or just like a massive update) if is a new game, does our loot carry over? Skins and such should do so if is a new game, if just a massive update then no worries
