The first step is to draw a horizontal line a little over halfway up your page, next draw a across in the middle of your horizontal line, this will be the vanishing point for this 1-point perspective drawing. All parallel lines going towards the vanishing point will look like they meet at the vanishing point, if you extended the lines all the way to the horizon.

Fascinating! I have no sense of perspective, so this seemed magical. I wonder how long it takes for the brain to automate this new perception. Will i ever not need to draw lines? When i learn to play a harmonica, it took a week for my brain to remember where the notes were so i could slowly play a tune, then practiced hour and hours to make it mine. No two harmonica players play the same. It expresses my heart, and that is what i want drawing and watercolors to do, too. Music is a painting, too. Thank you😊

I'm an experienced writer, and only recently really started to learn the traditional arts that my peers have all done since the beginning. A very good introduction to drawing in perspective. Everyone should have a go at this. At work, I have drawn many things in perspective to show designers and draughtsmen, what I needed them to create. A sketch in perspective explains more than words or orthogonal drawings.
