Κάθισμα Αʹ.

Kathisma I.

Ἦχος γʹ. Τὴν ὡραιότητα.

Mode 3. Seeing how beautiful.

Πόρνη προσῆλθέ σοι, μύρα σὺν δάκρυσι, κατακενοῦσά σου ποσὶ Φιλάνθρωπε, καὶ δυσωδίας τῶν κακῶν, λυτροῦται τῇ κελεύσει σου· πνέων δὲ τὴν χάριν σου, μαθητής ὁ ἀχάριστος, ταύτην ἀποβάλλεται, καὶ βορβόρῳ συμφύρεται, φιλαργυρίᾳ ἀπεμπολῶν σε. Δόξα Χριστὲ τῇ εὐσπλαγχνίᾳ σου.

The harlot came to You who love humanity. * She poured perfume and tears over Your feet, O Lord. * At Your command she was absolved from the stench of her sinful deeds. * Judas, on the other hand, still exhaling the scent of grace, * ungratefully rejected it, and disfigured himself with mire; * for he betrayed You for the love of money. * Glory to Your compassion, O Christ!

Ἦχος δʹ. Ταχὺ προκατάλαβε.

Mode 4. Come quickly.

Ἰούδας ὁ δόλιος φιλαργυρίας ἐρῶν, προδοῦναί σε Κύριε, τὸν θησαυρὸν τῆς ζωῆς, δολίως ἐμελέτησεν. Ὅθεν καὶ παροινήσας, τρέχει πρὸς Ἰουδαίους, λέγει τοῖς παρανόμοις. Τί μοι θέλετε δοῦναι, κἀγὼ παραδώσω ὑμῖν, εἰς τὸ σταυρῶσαι αὐτόν;

In love with the love of money, scheming Judas the knave * deceptively premeditated his betrayal of You, * the Treasure of Life, O Lord. * Thus intoxicated, he runs to the Judeans. * He speaks to the unlawful, saying, "What will you give me, * and I shall betray Him to you, * for you to crucify Him?"

Ἦχος αʹ. Τὸν τάφον σου Σωτήρ.

Mode 1. The soldiers keeping watch.

Ἡ Πόρνη ἐν κλαυθμῷ, ἀνεβόα οἰκτίρμον, ἐκμάσσουσα θερμῶς, τοὺς ἀχράντους σου πόδας, θριξὶ τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτῆς, καὶ ἐκ βάθους στενάζουσα· Μὴ ἀπώσῃ με, μηδὲ βδελύξῃ Θεέ μου, ἀλλὰ δέξαι με, μετανοοῦσαν, καὶ σῶσον, ὡς μόνος φιλάνθρωπος.

The harlot wept and sobbed, and she ardently wiped dry * Your undefiled feet, O compassionate Master, * with the hair of her head, and sighed from the depths of her soul and cried, * "O my God, I pray do not reject or abhor me, * but accept me back who am repentant, and save me, * for only You love humanity."
