Fun to decorate for Christmas, and nice to have a fresh restart for the New Year by taking it all down. 😊

yes, you do what you can. and i watched a vid on how pros put lights on tree. they go up and down not around. i did it, and it was so much easier to place lights as well as remove move! Have a blessed new year!

Traditionally it needs to be down by Twelfth Night - January 6th - I took my tree down last night 😢 everything is back to normal and looks empty !

Also, I saw a tip last year about Christmas lights : instead of going round and round you go up and down! I tried it this year and it was so much easier to take the lights off. I recommend doing that next year😊 Jenny 🇬🇧

I'm in UK, take down after 12th night/arrival of wise men. Slight advantage of an artificial tree being it isn't quite so critical as no needle drop.

When we were young we tied pieces of bread to the tree, dried berries and suet and put it out in a snow bank for the birds. Where I live now we are not allowed a real, live tree.

Lol. Now Devan knows why most of us choose imitation Christmas trees. You are going to be finding those tree needles for months. You did a very good job of packing away those decorations. I would not worry about that plate. It's cradled by the wreath and then locked in place by all the other bits. It should be fine. In the UK it's tradition to take the decorations down after Epiphany/Twelfth Night, but mine come down on the 2nd of January. My living room felt bald for a couple of days, but now I'm enjoying my clutter free environment again.

Twelfth night of Christmas for me means I take it down on or before the 6th of January.

I haven’t even started decorating for Christmas!! My plan is to declutter my house and then decorate! I’ll leave everything up for about a month then when I take everything down I can organize it for later this year! Also, I have a couple of totes of new stuff and about 3 totes of old stuff. I need to declutter and minimize what I have and won’t be using

It's not late at all - I still have mine up! We have an artificial tree though.

Yeah the live ones can't stay long. You should get one of those tree bags that you put on the bottom when you're sticking it in the tree stand that way whenever you go to take it out you literally can just lift the whole bag over the tree like you had it under your tree skirt and then that helps cut down on the amount of pine needles that end up in your house when you go to take it out. Try to think of it for next year.

Not finally! Not late! You’re good to go. I have years where I need to reset by NY, but sometimes (like this year), I’m happy to let it go through Epiphany (which is tomorrow).

I never take down before Epiphany (1/6) which means I am doing it today--HA

You could stick the tree outside and then make some bird seed ornaments or something with Dan with peanut butter and toilet paper rolls and strings. Or actually I've seen it where people take like the cookie cutters and then you fill it with bird seed and some kind of fat or something that hardens when it gets cold or maybe peanut butter like freeze it. You also could string popcorn and then I left over fresh cranberries you have. 🙂 But the dogs may just eat it all. 😂
