Congrats to that first guy on having built the gnarliest Sport Trac on the planet.

Hey it's Jenny, the gal from the second rescue. Thought I'd fill you all in on how I ended up in my predicament. I was going to go hiking on a nearby trail. The roads to the trailhead were fine for my Durango. When I got there, I suddenly needed to use a restroom pretty bad, and the nearest paved road to get to one looked like I could get to it a lot faster if I took a more direct route out. I came to the spot where you can see Matt go down a small hill, and there is a little curve to the road. I thought to myself "This probably isn't going to end well" as I went around the curve and noticed the sand getting significantly deeper. When I got toward the bottom of the wash area, the rocks, as shown in the video, made me decide to try to turn around. This is how I ended up with my front bumper against that big rock. I tried backing up, but my tires lost traction. I tried putting rocks under the wheels and found some cardboard, but it wouldn't move.

After I had tried to get myself out for a while, I decided I was going to have to get help. At nearly that exact time, a pair of bicyclists stopped and offered to help me. This was awesome, especially since I had no cell reception right where I was. The couple went and got their Jeep, but we decided that it wasn't going to be enough to pull out my Durango. They were kind enough to take me back to their lovely home nearby, and I finally got to use the restroom.

They happened to be fans of this channel and suggested I call Matt to get me out of there, which I did. I only had to wait an hour, and he quoted me $100, which was much less than I was expecting.

Matt called me when he was heading my way, and the couple drove me back, and Matt and his crew were wonderful and got me out really quickly.

Matt didn't even end up charging me, and I got a T-shirt to boot! I am so beyond grateful, and I'm going to be much more careful about where I take my Durango from now on. 😊

I love that you got saved by the crew you saved. There's a circle of karma somewhere in there.

Not often do I want to see a build or a tour of the rigs you rescue, but I want to see a tour of that explorer

Nothing like getting in a pickle when the crew is off. Luckily the guy being rescued had a winch. I must say that I find it very refreshing that this channel and the others associated with it don’t ask for “click, like and subscribe”. Thank you Matt for that.

So good seeing Ed in a video. You can tell Matt is a good guy because all the dogs he comes across like him. Dogs have a jerk detector built in.

You know you're a serious wheeler when Matt comes out solo just to run and get parts for you, then has some fun on the trail with you afterwards. That dude had one gnarly rig.

That guy in the Ford Explorer. That was a nice rig he had. Glad to see Ed

There's something about the lack of over-editing on the last couple of episodes that makes them so much better.

That Explorer build was so gorgeous, almost Steampunk art. You need to take him with you to Tennessee and run trails with Bleepin Jeep.

Flash floods are no joke. My two nieces passed in a flash flood in Goblin valley (slot canyon) 2yrs ago on Mother’s Day weekend. It Almost took their Mom and my 2nd brother too. Super scary. We found the girls 20 miles from the canyon (from where they were) 3 days later. 🦋🦋Ugga mugga ❤

I liked the ford explorer, good to see that people still "build" offroad toys

That first rescue was a lot like watching Matt when he first started on YouTube. Just him, the Banana, and a iPhone. 👍

For those curious about desert flash floods, look up Reed Timmer on Youtube. He's a storm chaser who documented a bunch of the 2022 summer desert floods around Arizona. Matt is not exaggerating that a storm 20 miles away can cause dangerous flooding. I prefer to do my hiking and explorations of washes and canyons during the non rainy months when there's not a cloud over the state of Arizona.

Excellent content as always. Living in Suffolk UK 🇬🇧 it’s fascinating seeing such different terrain, I’m in awe of your vehicles, driving skills and constant good humour. Keep up the great work 👍👍

Another great video. Maybe it wasn't good to learn the winch? Now taking risks that cost $30 taillights. No one knows their vehicle's full capabilities until they put a winch on front and back. So glad to see all the winches on the wreaker. You'll soon know it total capabilities. Good info on flashfloods. I learned it when I was six. Memory comes back like a video. Tucson; driving up to a wash on a back road. My Dad got out to check the crust on the 1/4-mile-wide wash. He figured it would hold, just before we got back to the car, we heard crackling like we had our ear near a bowl of rice cereal. The storm was so far away it was just on the horizon. Four-inch wall of water coming at us. My Dad hollered get in the car as quick as you can. He was rolling as soon as I opened the door. I jump in, he nailed it at we crossed with only the back tires wet when we exited and stopped to watch the show.

The Banana almost got the drivers side peeled on the rocks! WOW that was steep!

I'm in central Illinois. We have flash flood warnings and watches, but they aren't like yours. Around here our established creeks and rivers swell and break over their banks causing flooding in low-lying areas. Most of the time, the flash flooding happens after a storm, as the fields and areas drain off into the streams, especially when the water table is already full to capacity and the ground can no longer absorb the runoff. But it also happens during storms. A few years ago the small town 3 miles from me ended up half submerged from flash flooding of the south fork creek. The flowing water was so strong that it carried a guy's 4x4 off of a bridge and downstream drowning him and his passenger. They apparently had gone out to video the flooding and became part of the tragedy. Moving water has amazing power behind it. Any type of flash flooding is nothing to play with.
