This movie "feels" weird. I know is from Terrence Malick and he's a terrific director, but what I feel causes that weird feeling is how he takes a Bonnie and Clyde scenario and strips it off of all of the glamour we think a situation like that would have. It doesn't glorify anything. Both of the characters feel empty, not in a "they're bad characters" way, but like both of them have really nothing going on for them. It's depressing but in the best way possible. It's haunting to think people like that really exist, so empty that they wouldn't mind going on a killing spree. It's even scarier that they don't seem to find joy even doing that (not that they should neither, lol). They're completely empty.

I’ve only watched this trailer and so far, I must say it’s very intriguing. Being 25 years old, I’ve always had a great respect for the New Hollywood era movies. Something extremely different about their aesthetic and tone and how well they shaped up movie making.

Rented this back when you still walked through a video store looking for interesting movies. Thought this looked strange but good. Stayed with me for a while, especially that ending scene where he's in the cop car and says "You boys performed like a couple of real heroes" lol. The cop then throws his hat out the window.
