PARADISE BANGKOK 5TH ANNIVERSARY WITH KWANJIT SRIPRAJAN LIVE 28.03.2014
ZUDRANGMA RECORDS
proudly presents...
PARADISE BANGKOK 5TH ANNIVERSARY,
MUSIC FROM OFF THE BEATEN TRACK
On Friday March 28th we celebrate 5 years of Paradise Bangkok, so naturally we have to do something special. We are super proud and excited to present for the first time in a single billing lae legend Kwanjit Sriprajan and molam star Yenjit Porntawi.
Kwanjit Sriprajan came to prominence in the late 60s as she pioneered the fusion of luk thung and the more religious lae style, creating in the process a cosmic, spiritual funk! Always looking to push musical boundaries, she will be creating something unique for us on the 28th. Yenjit Porntawi was born in Khon Khaen and has performed since age six. Expect killers like 'Lam Plearn Toh Lam Nhao' and 'Lam Plearn Gok Kaa Kao' , as she delivers a masterclass in old school molam.
Both singers will be backed by The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band creating special versions of their celebrated songs, as well as new improvisations and interpretations put together exclusively for this one-off show. And of course DJs for the night are Maft Sai and Chris Menist joining the dots between molam, cumbia, taarab, reggae and beyond. This won't happen again any time soon, so make sure you reach for this. Dancing shoes and an open mind essential...
