Regional Investment Forum (RIF) 2019 Highlight

Hi, #investeam! Here is a highlights from RIF 2019:

Representing Banten governor, Head of DPMPTSP Banten kicked it off by welcoming all participants & conveying highest appreciation to BKPM for its initiative to host #RIF2019 in Banten.

Realized investment projects have contributed tremendously to job creation & economic growth in Banten, the province has also been supporting govt efforts to ease doing business in Indonesia. One of its efforts is by heavily improving infrastructures in the region.

In his keynote remarks, Chairman @tomlembong stated that Banten is one of the saviors in Indonesian economy over the last years & will remain so in many years to come. Furthermore, industrial city of Cilegon will soon chip in billions of dollars in FDI in Indonesia.

Chairman Tom added tourism has become an engine for job creation & economic growth. 1 of 5 new jobs created is in travel & tourism industry. This growth is 50% faster than global GDP growth. This fact is driven by the shift of consumption pattern: from offline to online.

He stated that, "As such, we must embrace the adoption of digital economy in tourism sector. This technology innovation has shifted the way we communicate, the way we travel. This change has pushed for an economic structural change."
