My top 3 are
1. Ranpo (He may not be the best at outsmarting others, but the fact he can solve any case in literally seconds is amazing)
2. Dazai (he outsmarted Fyodor fir what we know so far, etc.)
3. Fyodor (he does have the same iq as Dazai, but for now all we know is that Dazai outsmarted him. If he is alive, I do think Dazai knows cuz at the end he wasn't as snarkey as usual.)

I do feel like Ranpo belongs at the top. I think even the writer had to nerf him in the scene where it shows he needs his glasses to deduce who Kamui is, and that he said he messed up trusting blindly in Fukuzawa. The story would be too easily sovled and anticlimactic if he wasn't as nerfed and the writer didn't overpower Fukuchi.

I feel like Poe should be higher on the list. He’s definitely a very smart detective, since he ‘scared’ Ranpo for the first time. Other than that, I mostly agree with you. Idk about Natsume (your probably right but I don’t know much about him)

I feel like Poe should be higher, ranpo is extremely smart and as he said Poe was the only one who “scared” him during his deduction abilities. That’s a big deal, if poe’s intelligence has slightly scared ranpoe i say he should be in atleast the top 5.

IK IM VERY LATE, BUT THIS IS FACTS
To all the people saying Dazai is the #1 smartest bsd character, u clearly haven’t been paying attention. Sure, Dazai is possibly the strongest bsd character, however he certainly isnt the smartest. He admitted himself that Ranpo was a lot smarter than him and in season 4 + the rest of the manga, we see Ranpo with his full potential. He was the one who strategised the plan to save Kunikida and Yosano. He also made the plan to take down the Fukuchi guy. The only reason that didn’t work was cuz Fukuchi had the ability to see the future. AND IF ANY OF U ARGUE TO THAT PLZ REMEMBER DAZAI AND FYODOR WERE STUCK PLAYING CARDS TOGETHER THE ENTIRE TIME, HE DID NOTHING TO HELP.
In ep 5 we can see his observational and deduction skills are superior to Dazai. Ofc i admit Dazai’s planning and strategy is better than Ranpo’s, Muchitaro still recognised Ranpo as Fypdor cuz of his strategy skills.
In Season 5 Ranpo said he could ‘psychologically manipulate Fukuchi intro agreeing’ - he chose not to at the time cuz Fukuzawa said he trusted Fukuchi.
Dazai = incredibly smart
Ranpo = even smarter than Dazai
And to those arguing about Fyodor vs Dazai, they have a similar IQ. We haven’t seen much of Fyodor’s full potential so-

I'm thinking about all the events that happened in the Bungou Stray Dogs series, which could have happened because of a bet from Fyodor who said that it was impossible for the Armed Detective Agency to collaborate with the Port Mafia and Dazai said that it was possible.
