MOST COMMON REASON AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON

We will explain what is the most common reason for the airbag light to be on on your car. We based this on our observation and 7/10 of ten cars that had the airbag light on was due to bad occupant sensor, known as occupancy mat, or seat occupancy sensor. If the occupancy sensor goes bad your airbag will be on because the airbag system will not be able to detect if the person sitting in the passenger seat is heavy enough for the passenger airbag to turned on or off. The seat occupancy sensor mat is integrated in the passenger seat and it will often require disassembly in order to replace the seat occupancy sensor. If your airbag light is on by scanning your airbag module you will be able to figure out what caused your airbag light to be on.

Don't waste 5:47 minute of your life GUYS

1. Ignition off
2. There are yellow wiring harnesses with a connector under both front seats, these are for occupancy detection. They might have a loose connection. Wiggle and push the connectors.
3. Ignition on.

This resolved it for me, however light only disappeared after the second startup.

For me it was an undercharged battery. It read 12v but was only a 40% charge. I charged it up to full and problem went away. It then clicked why my radio kept shutting down and coming back on. My guess is my stereo system is taking too much to keep it running from alternator, and not charging battery properly. Couple that with short journeys and bingo, dead or dying battery. Hope this helps someone.

My daily is a 2016 Veloster Turbo. Today I went to visit my wife at CVS minute clinic and the road to get there is horrible. I feel like my car now rides rough. The suspension is hard and I have 18 Rotiform rims with low profile tires. Anyway I was on the interstate and even then the road is bumpy in some area. My airbag light came on when I started my car, so that I could drive home. When I got home, I check the yellow wire and snug it back and restarted my car. The low went out. There was also a dry leaf that was wedge in between the yellow wire and the other wire. So I guess In my case. My airbag light came on because of a leaf. 😮
