When there's finally a queer show like heartstoper or young royals it's considered cringe or unrealistic when it's literally a safe place for many people

I swear people who say it's cringe firstly never clocked the depth and message of the show and these important aspects it portrays, AND simply have never experienced a true, safe and soft love like this, it's an otherworldly experience 💖 It's such a beautiful and important show and as someone who's literally living a Heartstopper romance irl with the Nick to my Charlie, I've never been happier and it's so precious 💖 There's nothing cringe about healthy and happy queer love, period! Or tackling big topics from a positive viewpoint. This show is so realistic and holds so much depth. Amazing edit as always :)

"if u think its cringy then it wasn't made for you" Absolutely!! I watched this show, both seasons twice(reading the books atm) and not a single time I thought it was cringe, it's a beautiful show that's a safe space for a lot of people, including myself.
The world is scary, but heartstopper is a safe place.

I’m a Christian and sometimes I’m scared of my friends finding out that I watch heartstopper but tbh I don’t really care what they think bc it’s my comfort show and I really enjoy rewatching it❤️ (most of my friends are homophobic)

Imagine if Charlie could speak to his younger self... he'd realise how far he's come...

I loved seeing Nick go on his bisexual journey. Mine happened when I was much older only because I didn’t realize who I really was sooner. It’s so freeing. Heartstopper is an amazing and wonderful show. Why can’t a queer show have love, acceptance and friendship without others criticizing it? Those people don’t deserve it and don’t matter anyway ❤️🍂

Honestly, i stand with the nick "im bisexual actually" one because once when i was in school, it was pride day, which meant we should wear something rainbow or pride related. So not many people wore anything pride related or rainbow, but i had the colors of the bi flag as hair ties in my hair. Some girls really went up to me and said, "oh, why are you wearing the bi flag in ur hair like are u gay or something?" And im just like if u know what the bi flag is, then why the heck do u not know the difference between being gay and bi so yeah, heartstopper is realistic and relatable 4 anyone who doesn't think so. ❤❤🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

heartstopper is my everything when i feel like there is nothing. that in itself might be cringey, but honestly, i think i speak for a lot of people when i say that heartstopper has been so much more than a comfort show.

Out of curiosity I looked up the definition of cringe: “to have an inward feeling of acute embarrassment or awkwardness.”

So, apparently some people feel awkward and embarrassed while watching Heartstopper. I wonder why? I think it says more about that person than it does about the show.

Heartstopper is unabashedly sincere, wearing its heart on its sleeve. It’s about being different and finding love. It’s about friendship, and self discovery. And it’s not ashamed of that. But most young people who have been told that being different is shameful, embarrassing, and awkward. They should strive above ALL ELSE to fit in.

Then they watch a show full of people their own age; not only being different, but reveling in that difference. Being happy and finding acceptance. Some viewers find it liberating, but some find it deeply shameful. Those people are the ones who call it cringe. I feel sorry for them, and I hope that one day they can find that unabashed sincerity within themselves, and revel in it.

The thing is tho it is cringe BUT its realistic. Like this is how British teenagers talk (minus the 1000 f bombs). Its not like Riverdale or G&G cringey. I love it

bro I seriously don’t get people who say “heartstopper is cringy” or “heartstopper is too happy”, like are we talking about the same series?? it goes over so many touchy topics while also representing queers that are HAPPYYY (HI PHOENIX 😁👋🏼 what a pretty name ☺️)

I am a 42 year old heterosexual Women. My nephew came out to me and asked me to watch the show with him. I have not cringed once. Have I cried or wanted to smack someone on the screen.. yes 😂 but not cringed. Patiently waiting for October 3rd ❤
