You can replace the oscillator crystal inside to slow the sound down to the correct speed. Easy to do :)

The manufacturers of these things use an overclocked processor so that it works with Chinese games that require that, this leads to the game and music running slightly faster than normal.

fast music aside, it does the job, the screen looks pretty decent for what it is, or at least it looks better than the Gameboy Pocket I had circa 1995 or so

I know this is an old video, but I'm really interested in buying one of these, so I hope you can answer my question, since your review it's one of the few positive ones about the GB Boy. Is the sound the only thing rushed or does the gameplay suffers this too?. I really can't tell from all the videos I've watched so far, it's literally the only thing keeping me from buying the GB Boy. Once again, hope you can answer and thanks.

I got the GB boy myself, got it real cheap with Warioland. The faster music is the matter of a crystal responsible for sfx. Changing it to the one with lower values (just like in real Gameboy) fixes the issue

Does this console work on Game Boy games released in the US? I'm just curious to know because I saw you playing Japanese versions of the games, but not any of the US versions of the games.

Another really interesting "knockoff". I am convinced that going through the trouble to actually clone the hardware is some kind of labor of love by folks who played the real thing back in the day.

Does the screen have the correct aspect ratio? The colour aspect ratio was squished.

Did you tried to turn it on without a cartridge to check if comes witg built in games?

The GB Boy seems to have problems, having screen ghosting and a faster game speed, but with $15, it wouldn't even matter at that point of it's bad or not because the price so low. Plus, the speed can be fixed. I'd say it's worth it. 👍

Nice machine really, not bad the price, and the quality of the screen looks very very good, maybe it has a better cpu than the original gameboy and can deal better with fatal fury performance! nice chinese knock off and great vid as always!
