Understanding Regenerative Injections: From Prolotherapy to PRP and Stem Cell Therapy

There are three primary injection tiers for regenerative injections: dextrose prolotherapy, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and cellular therapies (like bone marrow concentrate or adipose tissue injections). In our experience, while prolotherapy can be effective, it may require multiple sessions (5 to 10 treatments) every 4 to 6 weeks. PRP, on the other hand, accomplishes a lot more healing than prolotherapy with a 3-month healing period. The strongest treatment is stem cell therapy, where the healing can span up to 12 months post-treatment. Regardless of your choice, ensure your physician uses appropriate imaging, ideally a combination of ultrasound and X-ray, to guide the injections for accuracy and safety.

Thanks for the video. Do you support stem cell infusion therapy for general pain relief throughout the body?

Hi Drew

Hope you are doing fine.

I have two questions I was wondering if you can kindly guide me through.

Can we do PRP at two locations (Neck legimant and gluteus minimus ) on one session? The PRP is local activation so I searched it up and it seems should be fine. Would be much cheaper for me in Canda.

I did prolo for my Neck legimant instability and weakness. I want to switch to PRP. How many month do you think it is an ideal gap between the two.

I live in Canada and can not travel to US at the moment. I do appreciate your guidance.

Thanks a ton

Hey doc, I had Prp for a moderate OA of my knee. I am 3 months out. Stiffness seems worse than prior to injection and I walk worse with a limp now. I had 17 billion platelets injected under knee cap. He used lidocaine and torodol to numb. Should I go see someone who only does biologics and I am considering stem cell now. ?
